Brick & Mortar Living’s 1st Anniversary Party

Last Friday, Christine and I attended Brick & Mortar Living‘s 1st anniversary party. Starting a shop and having it thrive is a fantastic accomplishment. They have always been so great about carrying our cards and supporting our line, and we were so happy to celebrate this milestone with Julia, her sister Emma, and mom Jenn.

During the party we browsed around the store, spent some time in the pop up gallery next door and took a tour of the Arundel Mansion above.

First, we checked out the pop up gallery featuring the work of Alex Richmond. I really enjoyed his collection – there is definitely some cheekiness at hand and I love the style.

Right about the gallery is Arundel Mansion, a hotel built in 1912 and now converted to self-catering flats. Tours of the hotel were being held so we tagged along to see a bit of New Westminster history. All the suites still maintain their old world charm and it felt like stepping back in time. In fact, one particular suite is kept solely for movie shoots!

Finally we spent a bit of time wandering the store, taking in all the great, local goods stocked to the ceiling. The items in Brick and Mortar are SO well curated!

Here are some of our favourites:

Fun eco-friendly wooden untensils from Sucre Shop

Painted Mason Jars by Brick and Mortar

Paper Lanterns by Fiber Lab

Mellifera Bees honey

Jewellery by Mikel Grant

Our cards, of course!

Bow ties by Belvedere

Congrats again ladies and all the best in your second year!
