The Colour of Clever is Brown

Hope you had a great weekend! The city is alive with all things Olympic and the weather was fantastic. It’s been so warm that the cherry blossoms have already started opening and it’s not even March. I can’t wait for the streets to be lined with pink confetti.

But this post isn’t about cherry blossoms. It’s about some great packaging from the design firm, Lip in Bogotá. I had a chance to flip through the Communications Arts Annual again and was reminded of this really clever solution.

Brown Boxes

Brown is a small confectionery shop and required a new corporate image that would allow them to identify their packaging in a low budget way. While stamping may seem the way of scrapbooking, the well designed patterns, clean typography and complimentary colour palette really makes this concept work.

Brown Stamp

I personally love patterns and I think the use of stamps give it a personal touch – which is quintessential of a small gourmet shop.

    1. Aww! Thanks for the great compliment 🙂 It’s cool to see an old tool re-worked. Stamps seemed so old-fashioned but not when it’s done like this!

  1. Oooooh, thanks for this. Do you hear that teeny tiny sound? That’s my brain trying to process the awesomeness of this idea + my current packaging into something fabulous…

    1. You’re welcome! I know what you mean… it’s so obvious yet so clever in its simplicity! A total “Why didn’t I think of that!”
