My friend Geoff dropped by last week to hand out the official invites! Designed by his fiancée Wanda, I wanted to give kudos to her creativity and share with you the many reasons why I love them.
This is wedding #1 for Derrick and I for 2010 and we can’t wait. It’s a destination wedding in Las Vegas and so I wanted to see which way the invites would go – Las Vegas theme? Classic invite? Mix of old and modern?
I was delightfully surprised with a classy and sophisticated invite in black and white. But it was more the design details that made this blog-worthy.
Detail #1: FiberMark Touche Cover.
It’s unfortunate the the pictures don’t do it justice, but the texture feels like creamy suede. Two years ago, Cassie and I looked into using this paper stock for my wedding invites, but it was incredibly expensive. Well it’s with fortune that Wanda has printing connections. The paper alone makes such a big difference and it’s oh-so soft.
Detail #2: Smart folds.
I’ve seen many invites with the four-folding flaps. But notice how this one doesn’t need any ribbon, adhesive or slits. Need I say more?
Detail #3: A personal touch.
Las Vegas theme blended with classic-styled design. Adds a bit of personality.
Detail #4: The signature.
Every area of the invite was well thought out. From tiny hearts at the tip of each flap, to a nice finish on the other side to complete the package.
Geoff and Wanda, thanks for letting us share your invites!
Cheers,
> Christine
