Five for Friday – Post-its with Personality

by cassie on July 31, 2009

A staple in any office, post-its are the workhorse of the small notes world. My monitor is covered with yellow squares reminding me of tasks I’d rather put off. Ever reliable and effective, it’s no wonder the miracle sticky note has spawned a million variations, ranging in colour, size and shape. Not only are they practical but creative types have also taken them off the desk and used them in totally unexpected ways.

From D-BROS out of Japan, sticky notes that look good enough to eat.

From Fred & Friends, some “deadly serious sticky notes.” Be concerned if you see a bunch of these covered with names of people in the office on your co-worker’s desk…

From suck UK, sticky notes that you can turn into works of origami art.

Tom Seymour turned the ubiquitous post-it pad into a table, winning the OXO Peugeot Design Awards 2002 furniture cateogry.

And finally, a fantastic stop-action animation done with post-its directed by Bang-yao Liu for his senior project at Svannah College or Art and Design. Enjoy!

I’ve already asked my coworker to order some Murder Ink posties for me the next time we’re low on office supplies. Awesome video, but at the same time, he’s got too much time on his hands, haha
