One Cute Chef

by cassie on February 8, 2011

Last year we were part of an exhibition on papernstitch and I posted about some of the great items curated at the time. I also not so subtly hinted to the boyfriend that those great items made great gifts too. Well, wouldn’t you know it, being the awesome guy that he is and an avid reader of this blog (hee), I found myself with one cute apron on my birthday.

I had been on the search for an apron for a long while and never quite found what I was looking for. Either the pattern was terrible or it was giant and sloppy. But then I saw the ones at pamwares and instantly fell in love. After all, a chef (pretend or otherwise) can’t be serious in the kitchen without the right garb.

While he couldn’t get the exact one that I wrote about, I did get one that’s bright, cheery and reminds me of french tea towels that I love so much.

But aside from what a fantastic product this is, what really blew me away was how the apron came packaged. Running a shop ourselves, we know how important it is in making a positive, lasting impression with our customers. It’s all about the details and nothing says you care like paying extra attention to the packaging and presentation. While it may be a purchase, it’s always nice to treat it like a gift, complete with trimming.

And pamwares sure gets it right! From the tag, to the stitching and the recipe included, I was almost more excited by the obvious thought and care put towards the packaging than the actual contents inside.

Am I right? It’s awesome and also a perfect example of the extra special touch that comes with buying handmade. And now, I’m off to bake something with my new kitchen flair. (Not really, maybe just make some Chai).
