Library of a Modern Girl

With the way technology is going, the cries of, “Print is dead!” can be heard. While I love my Apple products and dare I say, even those e-readers (despite my initial reservations) there is nothing like holding a book in my hands. I find filled bookshelves quietly comforting and curiously appealing. It’s like a million different lives sitting and waiting for me to dive into. The space is limited in my tiny apartment but in the home of my dreams, I have a library. And these books would certainly be part of the collection.

Discovered the other day at Chapters, Penguin Books have a set of hardback classics with GORGEOUS patterned covers inspired by the time period of subject of each book. The days of a plain black or brown leather cover are gone. These are fresh and colourful yet well designed to age gracefully on the bookshelf. Considering the content are classics, you’ll want these around for a while.

Penguin Classics Set 1

Alice In Wonderland

Emma

Little Women

Oliver Twist

The Hound of the Baskervilles

For a pattern lover like myself, I want to buy each and every single one. It’s also great motivation to read and re-read some great novels. Here are some more:

Penguin Classics Set 2

Great Expectations

Pride And Prejudice

Sense and Sensibility

Tess of the D'Urbervilles

The Picture of Dorian Gray
