Weekend of Red

It’s a huge weekend here in Vancouver. The Olympics (!!!!), Chinese New Year and Valentines Day – there will be no rest. The best part – all three involve filling your heart with pride, love and happiness so I can’t wait.

The Olympic torch relay is happening as we speak, making its way through the streets of Vancouver. The opening ceremony isn’t until tonight but I think I’ll be weeping way before then. I LOVE the Olympics. I love the stories, the amazing wins and the heartbreaking defeats. I love that it brings everyone together through sport and national pride. Mostly I love the happy spirit that comes out of even the most jaded critic. I hope you get a chance to watch on TV and for everyone here in town, enjoy all the great events and get out there! If you want to see some Olympic pics so far, click here, here and here.

Sunday is Chinese New Year – GUNG HAY FAT CHOY! Chinese New Year is all about getting together with family and friends, being happy and eating lots. Make sure you clean before Sunday to get rid of the past and make room for the prosperous future. But DON’T clean on Sunday or you’ll sweep away all your good luck!

Here are some Year of the Tiger goodies and funky fortune cookie crayons to sign off with.

From Chase Dreams, fortune cookie crayons. Perfect for keeping little ones occupied at dinner:

It's hard to believe we have 10 days left to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics! Road closures are in effect and sponsors are painting the town with their colours. This past Sunday, Derrick and I decided to go downtown to experience the hype that's slowly building each day... // Read More

There are two types of graphic designers in this world - those who hate Comics Sans and those who hate Comic Sans even more. Poor little Comic Sans is reviled by most designers yet is universally loved by the general public. Like Uggs, Crocs and trucker hats it falls in the category of things made for a very specific purpose used instead in ALL contexts and loved by the masses for it. // Read More
