To continue this week’s theme of Valentine’s greetings, I’ve been waiting for a reason to share these from Katie Muth. This Canadian brings a unique and memorable illustration style.
In a passing email, my friend Lee called Valentine’s Day, “Singles Awareness Day”. She just cracks me up because it’s so true. When I was single, a bunch of us would get together for our anti-Valentine’s day dessert feast. Ahhh, the memories…
To Derrick and I, it’s not a big deal. So we love seeing the humour in this occasion – a reason why I think Katie Muth’s cards are so fitting. I like the nostalgic feel in her designs, but also the slight hint of cheese…
There’s nothing cheesier than a mixed tape for your Walkman…!
And a few general greeting cards – some which could work for this occasion. Love the detail in these illustrations.
But if you live in the Vancouver Lower Mainland like me, you’re probably not thinking about this day. Olympics, Chinese New Year – all in the same weekend. That’s where my head is at. I’m thinking red for Canada, not for V-Day. I am so excited!
Thanks Derrick for the bouquet of tulips!
