In Good Taste

by christine on January 22, 2010

When I first met my husband, we started taking trips down to Seattle to do what everyone else in Vancouver does – shop, snack and spend. That’s when we first discovered the Red Mango chain and our obsession with fat free green tea frozen yogurt and mochi. Well it seems we are amongst the many others who have also caught on to this frozen yogurt craze. New chains around the world are popping up with colourful personalities that build their attraction beyond taste.

Who can deny fat free frozen yogurt? For you Canadians, I’m not talking about the Yogen Fruz in the mall. Try Red Mango when you’re in the US – their frozen yogurt has a true sour yogurt taste, but enough sweetness for the perfect balance. Started up by former Starbucks executives, you’ll notice small similarities with how Red Mango is presented and operated. Clean design, welcoming atmosphere, great taste.

The yogurt cups leave room for staff to get your order right -like how Starbucks notes any syrups, milks and other preferences on your cup. Did you know that former Survivor winner Yul Kwon bought into this franchise in San Fran?

As first seen in Communication Arts magazine, Frolick became an instant favourite of mine – now only if I could swing a trip to Singapore to try it out. Check out their site to see the cheeky buttons they sell. And most importantly, get a load of their witty business card!

And the remaining photos are a collection of my favourite retail interiors and branded cups. I’m feeling a little deprived living in Canada after seeing all these cool store fronts…!

Have a great weekend everyone and have some sweets! Today is the last day to enter Week 3 of our Peter Pauper contest!
