Cupcakes!

by cassie on January 12, 2010

Christine loves cupcakes. At her wedding, instead of traditional sliced cake, we got cupcakes. On more than one occasion I’ve bought her cupcake themed cards and when I see anything cupcake related, I think of her. The other day at Chapters was no different!

Chapters (which is like the Canadian Barnes and Noble) is a great place to kill time. There are a million things to browse and I have to say there are always gems to be found in their stationery section.  There was some time before our movie started (went to see Avatar) so my boyfriend and I made a beeline to Chapters. He (wisely) left me in the stationery section while he wandered elsewhere.

By the way, Avatar was AMAZING. The hype is well deserved, the 3 hours necessary and the long lineups worthwhile. It’s a bold statement but I think it’s one of my favourite movies of all time. Yeah, the writing isn’t the best and the story isn’t terribly original but it’s incredibly engaging and the special effects spectacular (I saw it in 3D). People CLAPPED at the end. I know. Clapped. Incredible.

But I digress. Back to what I found at Chapters. As the post title would suggest, cupcake cards. From Potter Style, die-cut cupcake cards in all sorts of icing colours. 16 cards in total, they come in a really cute box.

There were also notecards from Ryland Peters and Small which feature images from, Cupcakes by Susannah Blake. 20 notecards, 4 different images all in a reusable tin box.

All the images are good enough to eat, looking at them makes me crave icing! I found some other goodies too, including pretty packaging, more stationery and a really cool hammer (I know, strange) which I’ll blog about later this week!

Cupcakes are little works of art, and as I’m not a fan of sweets, I much prefer looking at them than eating them. So I especially like the idea of cupcake stationary!

I feel the same way – cupcakes in small doses is enough for me!
