Sephora is the proverbial candy store for women. I went in this past weekend, spent a great deal of time wandering the aisles and walked out with a bunch of goodies in a small bag that belied the actual damage done to my credit card.
Cosmetics packaging has changed so much since I was a teenager. Remember the plastic blue Covergirl compacts or the maroon tubes of mascara from Maybelline? If you don’t consider yourself lucky because it probably means you’re too young to!
But I digress.
There’s still cosmetic packaging that’s really clinical and minimalistic, which I definitely appreciate. I have to say though, sometimes makeup should just be fun and experimental and that’s why I love the packaging from Benefit. It’s colourful, flirty and cheeky. It’s got hints of vintage that goes with today’s modern woman. If nothing else, the outsides of their products reflect the sass and prettiness that you’ll feel after using their goods.
Check out their packaging the next time you come across it. Even if you don’t by anything, you’ll at least get a chuckle from their product names.
