The air is decidedly chilly and I can see snow high in the alpine already. In less than a month the mountains will be open and hopefully the beginning of an epic season.
It’s been awhile since I’ve looked for new gear and I can’t believe how fun snowboard graphics are today. This year it’s all about vivid colours, busy graphics and a bit of a retro 80s vibe. Along with the jackets, pants, boots and bindings, any border decked out in this year’s gear will be hard to miss against the white snow.
Here are some of my favourites for this season:
First up, Burton – arguably the best known snowboard brand today. I myself own their Feelgood board but this year it’s their Jussi and Supermodel board that caught my eye.
Burton Jussi
Burton Supermodel
From Option, a Canadian company that makes excellent boards, the Bella:
Next up, Salomon – also known for their skis and other outdoor gear. Their snowboard apparel brand is Bonfire but their boards are under the Salomon name. I have a Salomon Ivy as well and I LOVE it. I’m a big fan of their graphics this year… especially since there’s an appearance of the owl!

Salomon Lotus. Here’s the owl!
For the guys, the Salomon Sanchez
And finally from K2, a company first known for their skis but have now branched successfully into snowboards:

K2 WWW Rocker for the guys
