It goes without saying that the food in Italy is amazing. The cheese, coffee and wine is top notch and it’s safe to say I ate and drank my way through Rome a couple weeks ago. Before leaving I had to stop at a food shop to pick up sauces, pestos and the like to take home. It was there that I came across these delightful little tins of mints and candies from a confectionary company named Leone.

It seems everything is done with such refined flair in Italy, even their mints are housed in cases worthy of display. It really puts our Frisk dispensers to shame. I have to admit that I couldn’t really understand anything on the package but was instantly swayed by the unique designs on the tins. According to what little English is on there, they have been making candies since 1857 using traditional bronze moulds and high quality ingredients. Further browsing on their site showed a wide line of mints, digestive candies and chocolates. While I’m sure the taste of the candies aren’t to everyone’s liking, the packaging is lovely and I will probably put other mints in there when done with theirs. Check out your local specialty Italian grocer, they just might have them!
